You are exactly correct Ivor. This is the basic point I have been trying to make to all of those in the world of poetry today. Those who disdain the rhymes and rhythms and sounds and the basic purpose of poetry, which is communication; are attempting to destroy the essence of poetry's meaning as an art form. If they preach the abandonment of these basic things, they are teaching the abandonment of poetry itself. You cannot deny poetry's history and enhance it in any way. In fact, it is nothing less than a blasphemy against this beautiful art form itself.
