The New Bird
So wet and ugly
Really depressing,
When the new one arrived
In need of some dressing.
But with time it learned
To stand on two feet
And was once and forever,
Hail fellow well meet.
But getting out of the nest
Was soon the new challenge
To go with the rest
He flew, to our chagrin.
The Bird now flew
To a new beginning
With false starts aplenty, not few,
And he lost more than he was winning.
Where it will all end
Makes no sense to us all.
But it it's time to recognize
That we must let him fall.
