A well crafted poem. The recurring words add beauty to this write. Great imagination.

The bells! — ah, the bells! The heavy iron bells! How horrible a monody there floats From their throats — From their deep-toned throats — very fine thoughts and imagination. tony

EAPoe at his elusive, suggestive worst. A toss-off with little substance except the allusion to sounds which come across exactly the same with the exact same words whether warm and friendly or ominous and foreboding. Not one of his best efforts.

Of the bells, bells, bells — Of the bells! Bells can be a holy sound of a temple or church But, as the poets asserts in this poem it could bells of horror or melancholic bells. How I shudder at the notes!
