The beauty of newly fallen snow is dazzling,
new layers of pure white snow-flakes cling
to nearby pines, transforming them into tall
bearded overseers, while nearby squirrels
dart from branch to branch, evoking the soft
snow to cascade beyond the heavy fronds
Deciduous trees their boughs winter bare,
now embrace fresh fluffy white snow,
luminous, even without hint of shining sun
as more flakes fall layering even higher,
giving a look of wonderment
to gaze upon such glorious scene
Recently cleared roads and paths filled now
with pure white alure, no footprints or tire tracks
to be seen, so fresh this new covering.
Flakes without break continue slowly to
float down covering all below, though sadly,
such beauty will not have long to stay
