The Battle Of Reading Rock - Part 01

Rating: 5.0

"Before you go, I'll have you know,
that the Lord has said to me
Psalm 91, is just the one,
so read it and you will see."
"I don't know why", was my reply,
"But Sara I'm sure you're right"
And off I went, to pitch my tent,
at Reading's Rock Festival site.

So off we went, and sited our tent,
by a busy thoroughfare
hung up the banner, in such a manner,
so all would know we were there.
On the cross we chose, to superimpose,
"This is how much I love you"
and flew it high, there in the sky,
lifting eyes to the heavens so blue.

It was not clear, how apt and dear,
that Psalm was going to be
until that night, at the festival site,
when Dave was accompanying me.
For God was there, and by His care,
we depended upon His word.
We made our stand, in Satan's land,
and stood protected by the Lord.

To be continued....

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It was almost ready to go when there was a knock on the door and Sara was standing there with her long flowing hair. "The Lord has told me to tell you to read Psalm 91, " she said. That was all. There were tens of thousands of them. Some of the fans were out scavenging for large amounts of wood including trees, fence panels and wooden doors. A couple of them were staggering along carrying a wooden telegraph pole. So we set up camp and advertised our presence at the Festival displaying a banner fastened to a high mast. There was no turning back. Neither Dave nor I knew what to expect. The fans were excited and I was wondering why Sara had told me to read Psalm 91. So we prayed and bedded down to try and get some sleep
