The Battle Poem by Jennifer Birchall

The Battle

Rating: 5.0

We never stood a chance really
Doomed from the very start
The Calvary came at us full force
We were in our shelter

We put on our armour
Shot after shot
Attack after attack
Wounded but we survived

Our army stood strong
We soldiered on
Shielded one another
Fought through every fight

But we became too weak
Too much bloodshed
The battle ended
We didn't win the war

Such resilience, ending in sadness. I’m sorry the battle could never be won x

The poem brings to fore the horrors of war. Out of two warring sides, only one can win. Thanks.
