The Banned Book Club Poem by March Nicks

The Banned Book Club

Ahem, we call this meeting to order.
An official gathering of
The Banned Books Club.
Please stand
As we say our pledge of allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the
Books we have banned.
To the ones we have deemed
Simply too powerful
for feeble minds to comprehend.
We pledge to protect the pages
That raised us and taught us
Of life beyond our own.
For we know that knowledge is power
And that power comes from
The books they remove from our shelves.
