She misses her: her bad friend
Thinking her not understanding her suffering
Leaving her to book the taxi
Leaving her to make her own way home
Leaving her to pay her own rent.
She grieves over her bad friend
Knowing she did have sympathy
But sometimes not answering her telephone
Leaving her to spend the night alone
Leaving her to vote on favourite people on her own.
She cries bitter tears over her bad friend
She secretly wishes it never pretend
She hopes the friendship is real
She prays the connection to never conceal
She understands their connection does reveal
That her bad friend does care
That although neglected sometimes
Their bond sincere and their bond special
Time to connect their individual souls
Guide them through troublesome life.
They go their own way through the complexities
Of difficult and heartbreaking life
Situations always cropping up
Situations always needing to be solved
The two friends never going it alone.
They send each other greeting cards
They send postcards and letters
They send each other text messages
They telephone each other every night
They support each other during stage fright.
The once bad friend never a bad friend again
Knowing friendship does not need to be explained
For in the harsh and upsetting world
They have each other's backgrounds in common
And know they are the same with how they see the world.
