The Asphyxiation Of The Nymph Poem by Raj Dronamraju

The Asphyxiation Of The Nymph

If you need further evidence we live in a post-symbol world
I attended the asphyxiation of the nymph
And no one else was there

In a clearing too drab to present an opportunity for a show-off's imagination
They held the nymph down and applied the drugged cloth
There was no apoplexy wasted at the asphyxiation of the nymph

Prostrate are overused billboard lazy once creative spirits
Cannot rise, crawl like a blind slug thing
Without senses, the windows are slammed down on our fingers

I can picture a 100 people working on this
100 people in a giant office
With many typewriters clicking and many phones ringing
Pre-information age secretarial pool antfarm

Now you engage in the effort of creation as conversation with a disembodied voice to produce something that parodies humanity
Supercharged void of no personalization
Within their limits, they cannot add to what has come before
