The Art Of Duality Poem by Cody Napier

The Art Of Duality

Wake me up when the angels sing,
Of loving everything in a sweet melody
When the doves fly high in the sky,
And the moon shines bright over the tides

Let me rest when the air smells of death,
And love a forgotten word never confessed
If no music exists and days without sun persist
Cast me down where I stand for God to witness

Happiness is the place where dreams manifest
A temporary place we visit to give our soul rest
From the pain of living in this existence until death
A reminder that life is both beautiful and complex

Sadness cleanses the soul of our sorrows
Rooting out the memories that we swallowed,
And kept hidden deep inside the depths of our minds
At the end of our struggles growth is what we find

Duality is the combination of extraordinary and horrendous,
And without it everything would be dull and meaningless
It brings balance to our thoughts and perceptions
Learn to appreciate this life and its perfect imperfections
