the black bamboo I see
has grown taller than the Hawaiian palm
the cactus on the clay pot falls from its place
the grass is greener now with the past two days of rain
at night and sunshine the whole day
i stand at the veranda with my hands at my back
watching the stillness of the moment
i am filled with gladness
doing nothing.
