you brought out a divine explanatory thing b/w soporfic state and laziness to still lay on bed. opening lines of sunlight....a true wise twist! !
I wrote this poem about sunlight- it was interesting to read yours. Prisoner Climbing trees Looking beyond mountains- Memories of childhood days of Wading in a creek and flying a kite- Locked within moments of madness, Sitting in a churchyard Trying to hide from all that was real, Where the rest of the world was the enemy- It was the day that they came and took me away To this place where I never saw the light of the day- Urine stained carpets, Sallow walls and sleepy eyed people Pacing up and down halls toward nowhere- Half a century later I am still the stranger fighting these moments of lunacy, Although I can now see the light of day; Trees have never been greener, I have the key to the world outside and the walls about me are stark white, Decorated with paintings though colorful and intriguing Evoke tears and sobs emerging from within. Skies are blue and trees sway in a gust of wind- The world would appear to be a striking place But the key to veracity and life’s purpose Does not fit the lock that binds my heart, mind and spirit. I could sit in a churchyard and hide and The sky would turn colors before me, as I would pray for some peace of mind - I was once a child, flying a kite, wading in a creek- Today I would hold onto the tail of that kite and let it Take me to another level of consciousness- someplace Within that colorful sky- but I know deep inside I must find the right key that would fit the lock that Keeps me prisoner from serenity and being the person I am inside- That person I hardly know- that stranger to my surroundings, That person fighting a war with herself- climbing a tree towards nowhere- Although urine stained carpets and sleepy eyed people are years behind me now, and Looking beyond mountains I know I have the key to the world outside- I am thankful to be seeing the light of day shining upon the creek- That creek I used to wade in and the sun’s rays shall unlock the key to my Heart, mind and spirit one day, I know-because I can feel the heat embracing me- I can feel that heat drying my tears and in time, I believe- That warmth of the sun shall enter my soul Unlock the door to my mind that contains so much darkness and madness, Set me free, and let the light of peace shine inward….
