While others jumped for joy in crowded street
Ignoring all the distant spacing of rampaging Covid
Shouting with glee that their side has prevailed and beat
Others have taken a more cautious road to skip
It was a good day, one must admit, to get an early forewarn
After many days of counting ballots to reach the final permit
The sun broke at dawn into a gloriously warm and calm morn
Reaching noon with cloudless sky, decided to go out for a bit
Drove to Heber Down Woods to take in fresh air and walk
Surprisingly. the car park was fairly full but found a spot
Goodness! What a popular place for folk to exercise and talk
Dozens of families, twosomes and singles knew all about this trot
All were cautious and kept to their space, most were wearing a mask
Enjoying the dozens of trails and tracks amidst the Conservation
A small lake, smooth as glass, beaver making ripple to swim to bank
The narrow babbling river slowly ambles through the preservation
The afternoon wore on giving welcomed peace and tranquility
Even the many walkers passing by heightened enjoyment for their content
It was a delight to sit and observe, enjoying the moment's stability
Glad not to be out with the celebrating crowd, safer, with no lament
