The Angel Butterfly Poem by jamal wooden

The Angel Butterfly

The sun rises, and the warmth of day descends
Night's chill departs, and darkness ends
In its place, light takes hold
Clouds scatter across the sky, in hues so bold
Golden threads weave through them
A breathtaking sight that freezes the soul
And warms my body

My eyes open wide with joy
Nature dances around me
A butterfly flutters near, and comes closer to me
Its wings are yellow, with black stripes so fine
On each wing, a green thread shines
I lift my finger, and it becomes a perch for it
It spreads its wings, and I feel like an angel

All the colors of nature are on my fingertips
I gesture towards the sky, so blue and bright
The butterfly takes flight, to join its busy life
It completes half of its journey, on my hand's guidance
The other half is a gift for me to share

It leaves, and I'm left to write a poem about it
