The American Tragedy [09/11/01] Poem by Conley Murray

The American Tragedy [09/11/01]

Perhaps America was well prepared for a rocket or missile attack,
but no one ever expected such a terrorist act,
that it put America flat on its back.

It was a terrible site to see that day,
and no one ever expected it to happen that way.

Oh what a tragedy, and Oh what a shame,
to see part of America go up in flame.

Tho there had been threats some did say,
but no one ever expected it to happen that day.

America is a nation that is strong and tall,
and they will find those that did it all.

America is a great nation we all can say,
and God has blessed it in a mighty way.

Confronting piece of poetry depicting savagery. A beautiful write of a terrible experience. Thanks for sharing.
