Hi Katty, A poem with a social objective. But not overtly. On the surface of the poem, you seem to narrate a familiar character, But within you a volcano has been smouldering, and the poem is its effluence. Your words I know my silence does harm. Very eloquent words and equally incisive! ....the pain she is causing all us Yes, a poet's heart pains when we see human suffering and such social maladies. And the result? A really serious very high quality poem! Would you care to read my poem Enter His Kingdom, again on the menace of alcoholism.

I know many dear souls to whom the world looks better through the bottom of a bottle. A well written poem from the view point of those who love them.
