The Abnegation Of Love
She holds
an archetypal view of love.
Yet succumbs
to the blandishment of sweet nothings.
Foolish,
To submit to an egregious abuse of trust
yet hopeful
whilst knowing his love is ephemeral.
Trusting
mistaken licentious behaviour,
yet forgiving
a pertinacious lover who
displays only
to his romantic objective,
a phlegmatic
and cruel view of love.
Beautifully written again and as always Lodigiana with superb phrases.We've all seen these peoplein action. And you've beaten me to the punch by 24 hours only your poem is better written and delivered Mine was a little darker called The Charmer And The Snake which is about a cruel selfish man. ! 0++ and added to my oxymoron treasure chest.
