Good and cherished memories are indeed eternal and so priceless Rose Marie. A fine and beautiful memory poem for one and all. 10+ and take care and the loved ones around you.
Though the reason leading to the present condition of the house is not clear it can be interpreted that the inmates are deceased or are displaced. It's a matter of relief or empathy to remember the kindness of the owner.. beautiful versification...
It is not the house or its opulence that stands in our mind, but the people who occupy it! Even if it is a mud hovel, if the people living inside are kind and loving, definitely that house will leave a lasting impression in us! Succinct, but beautiful and sweet!
