Like God's scintillating sunshine that births a brand-new day,
His inspiration now is mine to start me on my way,
And words and pictures guide my path to rhythms, rhymes and tales,
And in that moment, I can laugh because it never fails.
I pause, awaiting further proof, for that first line and verse,
Perhaps some wondrous Gospel truth to recite and rehearse.
Perhaps a gentle parable that stirs a stubborn heart,
Perhaps to share a miracle that Jesus can impart.
I smile at possibilities that pour out sweet as wine,
Because I sense each one of these proves perfect and divine.
God's prophets shared His prophecies for times both bad and good,
Sometimes for war, sometimes for peace, such that men understood.
And here am I, a modern man, upon this cosmic globe,
Aware that my God has a plan, and this truth grants me hope.
When inspiration visits me, at midnight or midday,
My heart gets called to Calvary, where Jesus chose to stay.
For prophecies, as true as these, were bought through sacrifice,
As much as each believer's peace that leads to Paradise.
A single second clarifies the ready mind to write,
Amazing Grace grants its supplies that lead us to God's light.
Beyond the thoughts of modern man, beyond both time and space,
Remember, my God has a plan meant for the Human Race.
