Thanksgiving Smile Poem by alicia cross

Thanksgiving Smile

There's much to be thankful for on this day;
Even if you just give everyone a simple, 'hey.'
I'm thankful that my mom is still breathing;
If she weren't I would have never stopped grieving.
I'm thankful my step-dad is still with us;
Yet this life still doesn't seem like enough.

We expect more than we should;
Why block all of the pain, even if we could?
The simple things in life are what we should enjoy;
I'm very thankful of the love from my boy.

Keep looking ahead if you don't have that much to be thankful for;
I'm sure there's a gift waiting at your door.
Give a smile and breather in the air;
Be very thankful if you are a pair.
If you're alive today put away the stress;
Kepp your hopes up no matter how much your life is a mess.
Though we all have our problems at hand,
Keep a smile on a, I've got a plan.
Let's show the world that we are all one;
Together, our smiles, will be as bright as the sun.
