The pangs of apartheid run deep in every line of the poem. Human dignity transcends all barriers of color and creed. That is the truth! Great poem by the way.
Black and white... A story that I have been reading and listening since I was a child... A color cannot separate people but sheer jealousy can... Lets stand up to be humans and live a peaceful life where we come together, eat, fight and live the best moments of life... Your pen, is mighty... Good one :)
Apartheid, hmmm it never a real rule but cruel selfish rules... What's up with the skin color? there's white and black to argue? hey people like a ying yang white must have black than it will complete more than that, black is the elegant color :) so having black in your skin is like an elegant wrap your body i am maybe not black but there's no different black or white is just your physical but how's your soul you can be darker even you whiter outside... and the real you are what inside, because that one is what you can do the DNA is just encoding protein for your body survival Keep your voice up Siyabonga..the truth must come! I know i am no black but Hey Siya, you black and i love it there's no humanity line separating us Even you blue or purple we still together! -Unwritten Soul
A really fantastic poem, a story that must be told. A fantastic write.
Actions can only act.... But words will always destroy, it all starts with these two words Black and White...... They both signify defferences, the both tell a story that we are different, now, bare with me that, whenever there are two things of different capacity, chances are, they are not on the same level of value, even if they are, but the fact that they are different, they will always behave unequal ugainst eachother, as this one, will think they more powerfull than there other Bra Siya, Rest assured brother, with all due respect... For as long as there are still evidence of tribalism in South Africa.... Racism will all stay the most powerful enemy to our lives, if you could study the environments of 3 universities in South Africa... There one in Johannesburg, the other in Free State, and the Other in Western Cape.. (Can't mention names) ..... You will see that Racism is yet to be defeated, I really admire the way you reflected it... Great way of expressing the concept, The_African_Son
I was traveling once on a bus to Transkei and got talking to the guy sitting next to me. He said what a shame it was that our generation (I am 64 now) had missed the chance of getting to know one another as ordinary human beings while we were young. We were the lost generation, separated by Apartheid... I feel the pain in this poem and I beg you, don't be disheartened. We can achieve so much still. I write about that time because I grew up with it and have to come to terms with it now, but I am so hopeful every time I go home and see how things are now. God bless Africa.
amazing poem.......top marks brother! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Wonderful you! And there are people who want us to believe that racism is dead in South Africa...
Funny thing is when we receive blood from the blood bank it is just red. Some lost great love because of this colour monster. Great poem, makes one very sad.
