Thanks For The Dance (Aft. Leonard Cohen) Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Thanks For The Dance (Aft. Leonard Cohen)

Rating: 5.0

Yr eyes are filled with the blues
As the tears wipe off yr emotions
You can't stop this feeling of rejection
Every time you dance
It could be any music you love
But you want to get close to someone
To have their breath on yr shoulder
A peck on yr eyelids
Anything to stop this emptiness
To know you are loved
And say thank you for the dance

An excellent tribute to one of history's greatest poets. And one of my favourites. And as with his music/poetry, your poem brilliantly captures the essence of loneliness. Top marks, LeeAnn!
