God, I thank you for this life
And I thank you for all of the strife,
I thank you for all of my cuts and bruises
And all the bad choices myself and other chooses.
I thank you for the mistakes that I made
And I thank for being there when I prayed,
I thank you for all the tears that I had cried
And I thank you for allowing me to remember the times I lied.
I even thank you for the the times that I abused,
And the many times that I was still confused,
And the times that I deliberately took the wrong road
I still remember the sadness and hurt that I sowed.
I thank you for reminding me of when I used and cheated
And the times others I knowingly and uncaringly mistreated,
And the times that I did a loved one wrong
Tearfully I still remember our song.
Lord, I thank you for all that I had experienced
And the beliefs and thoughts that I once stood against,
Now when I look upon my children and sisters and brothers
I now know that I can help them, and all others.
