This is an amazing poem. The imagery is so vibrant, I can almost feel it before my eyes. I myself am very fond of lighthouses; I even wrote a poem - The Lighthouse.
thank you, mihaela. I shall look at your poem now. One of our best is the South Stack in Anglesey, North Wales. I haven't seen the one in the Frisian Islands. I was just stuck by a beautiful photo in my book on the Netherlands. Tom
Beautiful descriptive and metaphorical poem. I've read allot of poems about lighthouses and this one is a favorite. I love the way you think about it like a human body with a scarlet stem, white collar, and then the casting of the pencil shadow out to sea. To me, this is a piece that I would love to see you expand. There are so many directions you could take. So well done.

I suppose I was desperate to get both ideas down this morning with Amazing Grace running through my mind. I listened to the Hymn and took down the verses so I could match the rhythm as far as possible. A busy morning! Tom
