Texas Highways Xxi Poem by Armadillo Poet

Texas Highways Xxi

Man I've had enough-
These damn frogs calling at each other.

It's not just the noise:
They set a bad example for us,
Screaming out for help in the cities.

Rather I wish we would focus
On the lights of the firefly.

The one learning the blinking of the others
So that it can steal the crawling embrace
And eat her.

But then again I can see all that at night:
If lightning lit the sky long enough
Maybe I'd see a burgeoning bullfrog battle.
