Temüjin Poem by Sophie Allyah

I. The Mongol empire

The empire existed 13th to 14th centuries
Conquering Asia and Europe boundaries
Spanning from the Pacific Ocean in the east
up to the Persian Gulf in the west
They are ruthless, sadistic, and brutal
Killing 40 million people more or less in total
Covering 9 million square miles of territory
The Mongolian Armed Forces are
one of the deadliest soldiers in history

II. Genghis Khan

Founder of the Mongol nation
A great warrior and a mass murderer
The most prolific lover and a brutal ruler
He was famous for his ruthlessness,
victories and invasions
His army was known on the battlefield
as being merciless and savages
surmounted hundreds of cities and villages
Killed millions of men, women and children
A spiritual believer, but a bloodthirsty
heathen according to legend
There is no record of what he really
looked like or how he died
Believed he had sixteen million male
descendants and six Mongolian wives
A national hero with all his glory
His empire was the largest land in history
He is beyond and incomparable
He was responsible for the deaths
of forty million people

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
He was Temujin before changing his name to Genghis Khan meaning universal ruler.
After analysing tissue samples in populations bordering Mongolia, scientists from the Russian Academy of Sciences believe the ruler has 16 million male descendants living today, meaning that he must have fathered hundreds, if not thousands, of children.
