Another powerful piece, KK. I love that it's a shock at the end to the writer to find a place she loves as no different than any other metropolis! Have you read _Reading Lolita in Tehran_? It's a fabulous book, IMO.
Beautiful... and so true, Iranians may be the *enemy* of the moment but they are really human beings like everyone else, with the same needs, hopes and desires... And just as you say, Tehran is a beautiful city. This is a lovely poem, well done!
