So touching and beautifully rendered Smoky. It reminded me of a book I once read called the Virgin Suicides. There were 5 sisters who committed suicide one at a time and the story kept going back to the tree in their front yard that had blight and the girls refused to let it be cut down. I'm sure there was some symbolism there that was beyond my understanding but the point is that trees breathe too I suppose. I truly enjoyed this.
This is so beautiful and I also feel the pain of it being cut down....as it was such a glorious tree filled with so many memories~ standing and growing tall without a reason for it to fall....only mankind killing it for progress~ Very sad. but a great poem expressing so.
A poem as lovely as a tree- thank you, Smoky. I hope there is another tree somewhere to give to you those same feelings.
