Prayers like flames soared, Lord, save the land, bring the rain.
Fury’s fire torched hills and towns, as witnesses strained.
Homes to cinder to embers to ash, heard cries of deep lament
Cries toward Heaven, Lord, hear and help
On this night of great torment.
Brokenhearted crying; a promise to be near;
Strength comes through weakness; Courage conquers fear.
Eyes that see Help’s Promise guide the lost where to begin
When tears fall on the ashes, only memories remain.
But even through the fire, even through the flame,
There is One Desire, people, call upon the Name
Of One Who brings great comfort; of One Who calms the wind
Who gives sweet restoration; helping build these lives again.
Children, listen to the Spirit, live life in the truth,
None believe fully anyway, no need to send more proof.
Chosen ones, be humble, seek God’s face, and understand.
Prayers heard from heaven, bring sinners forgiveness;
This will heal the land.
Hold the Hand of Mercy, kneel at the Holy Feet
Of the Father of Great Comfort, In Arms of safe retreat.
Take the fire from the land and put it into souls!
Burn them with desire, Lord, to surrender all control.
Brokenhearted crying; a promise to be near;
Strength comes through weakness; Courage conquers fear.
Eyes that see Help’s Promise guide the lost where to begin
When tears fall on the ashes, and only memories remain.
Because even through the fire, even through the flame,
Christ is Our Desire, people, call upon The Name
To thank God for the comfort; for calming wind for rain,
For giving restoration helping build these lives again.
Saddened hearts aching feel the sting that lasts a while
Only the pure love of Christ could ever bring a smile.
When tears fall on the ashes, and only memories remain.
