It is a great tribute to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the 11 th. President of India who was known as missile man. He was the scientist, teacher, writer and philosopher. He was much loved by the students from every part of country. His contribution to the country is great. He passed away on 27th July,2015. He was a Bharat Ratna awardee. His birth date 15th October was declared by U.N as World Students' Day in honour of his birth day. Dear Dr. Geeta madam, you have so nicely inscribed this about a great man like him. Thanks for sharing.

Reading your tribute to one of the most humane souls of our time and a scientist par excellence, I felt goose bumps all over my body! He was a great teacher, an able administrator, a doyen of wisdom and humility, a scientist of vision and far sight and above all a human being of great compassion and understanding..... all rolled into one! Beautiful homage to Mr. Kalam.... our past president!

Many many thanks for this beautiful comment on Dr. Kalam. Yes, i fully endorse, this great soul to be the most humble teacher ever. Let me share a valuable episode with you, Ayman. When i published my book on Meditation on Ahimsa in 2006. I sent 25 copies of the books to different people in India.24 of them never answered. The 25th one was Dr. Kalam., who was the President of India, then. He was the only one who read my book and sent me a personal letter commenting on my poem on Ahimsa - the path of love. I treasure his letter. To me Dr. Kalam 's demise is like a member of the family departing. So sad and shocking!

It is my personal belief that Dr. Kalam was undoubtedly India's greatest president for the simple reason that he was not a politician but a scientist, a teacher, a philosopher, a writer, a thinker, and a visionary. He tried to lead the country out of darkness but the petty politicians whom he so easily overshadowed did not let him have a second term as the president. He stayed away from politics as much as he could, always focused on making India's future bright had the strongest work ethic. The world does not need politicians as leaders it needs more people like Dr. Kalam, people who do not forget their humanity no matter where they are in life. Thanks a lot Dr. Menon for this beautiful tribute to the world's most humble and humane teacher.
