The fact that you wrote this poem the same day as you wrote AGAINST YOUR WISHES is an amazing achievement of your imagination and faith. I see these poems as complementary: one is swamped by the grief of human life; the other is elevated by the aspirations of human life. Both represent the reality and ambiguity of being human. What TASTING WONDER did for me was show a path through heart-sorrow back to a place of celebration. It doesn't deny sorrow (How could it and be true?) but it integrates it into your wholeness of experience.
