I like the tanka form, and I think the extra syllables/lines over the haiku gives the poet a chance to clarify, even develop further her/his POV. And I love oak and willow trees. I was primed to appreciate this poem! I especially like the closing lines in which this oak encourages other oaks to fulfill their destinies. What pride! What a sense of honor! Obviously, I'm making the connection between the natural object and how it connects to human things.
