Tall And Wise Comments

TO WORK, TO THINK, TO DO IN THE STAR'S LIGHT - This character strikes me as the traditional hermit who absents himself from felicity (as Hamlet put it) so that he can better access his inner nature and achieve an understanding of what it is to be human. What a sacrifice such a man or a woman makes to live such a life of sinews and nerves, fortified by a faith many people have abandoned! I jhave the highest respect for the character you sketch in this poem. You make me a believer in his cause, if not his god.
