Talk To You Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Talk To You

I wanted to talk to you
But didn't know how.
So I listened & resonated
with what you had to say,
Even though I didn't understand
half of it.
I loved watching how you lit up
& how much passion it gave you.
The same passion you'd give me
whenever I'd hear you talk.
I wanted to talk to you but you didn't
seem like you'd be interested in all the things
I'd want to talk about,
So I'd spend half the night each and every night
researching
all the things I'd sit & listen to you
talk about.
The things I thought I had no interest in.
Who would've thought
I'd be on my second degree
Who would've thought
You'd be at my graduation
