When I was 10
I took my very first aspirin,
From a constant migraine
Which gave me considerable pain.
I was just 10 years old
This story I have often told,
I needed to feel better and mend
That's when I had my first girlfriend.
I took two aspirins when I took a wife
Daily for the rest of my life,
Other husbands did the same as me
To reduce their pain and their agony.
I was a grown adult
Aspirin addiction was the result,
Bottles of aspirins I keep in my house
So, I can be happy and smile with my spouse.
I then started taking 3 aspirins daily
When my wife gave me a daughter, "Hailey",
Other fathers did the same as I did
As their pain and suffering they also hid.
To my daughter that was a secret
My daughter was a pain in the butt, but not a regret,
So, I constantly took the pill
So, my pain and aches would subside and heal.
One day I'll take aspirins no more
I won't be worried by a wife or a daughter I have swore,
They'll be no more constant agony or pain
Which have drove so many good men like me insane.
That someday will certainly be
When I won't need aspirins for my agony,
They'll be no aches or pain or dread
Because, that day I will be dead.
