I can relate to this wonderful write to treasure the simple things in life is to go back to the past to the glow of friendship when we all had nothing and we're just starting off, the pleasure of those years of embracing living with zest and the pleasure of our friends company, our laughter echoes across the vast space between past and present to bring us home to the spirit of freedom! Great write Lyn!

Simplicity is often mistaken for the beauty of childhood or utopia in past times and yet the struggles have always existed, but have been reduced by our modernity and the complexity of life that that entails. Perhaps the answer even in this hasteful world is to live simply as we may idealize the past as idyllic but there were always struggles and our nostalgia and melancholy will not erase this. Bracing the modern world whilst choosing to live simply is perhaps the key to harmony. The poem was an interesting write.
