An omnibus across the bridge
Crawls like a yellow butterfly,
And, here and there a passer-by
Shows like a little restless midge.

this poem resonates with Théophile Gauthier's poem 'Symphony in White Major', which Wilde appreciated very highly.

A beautiful melody, rich in rhyme and rhythm about the symphony in yellow presented by nature and surroundings making it well deserved modern poem of the Day.

The yellow leaves begin to fade And flutter from the temple elms, And at my feet the pale green Thames Lies like a rod of rippled jade...........//// beautiful poem

Loved the title of the poem, as well as the depiction of the scenery. The crawling of the omnibus across the bridge like a butterfly as against a lone passer by that showed like a 'midge' is an excellent depiction. The picture appears vivid. The thick fog hanging along the quay like a 'yellow silken scarf' is also another classic imagery.

A well composed rhyming poem, good constructed, most honorable deserved as Modern poem Of The Day. Congratulations to OW´s family. At his time the Thames was pale green, does this mean that the Thames was still a dirty river with green alges? Nowadays the water is light blue when the sky is light blue and darkest blue when it is going to rain. A good poem of OW´s time. Myriad of 10´s for this excellent read.

The yellow silken scarf hangs about the quay has a sense of T.S. Eliot's image of the fog

I like how he painted his scenery- - the images of the bus and people and barge and wharf and fog and leaves weave together a Symphony In Yellow
