Swooned Poem by Adam Hollingsworth

Swooned

A soft, smooth whisper,
…noiseless?
The wind willows in and out,
…swift like sounds.
Jokes have lost appeal,
…maybe, just maybe.
Tonight and tomorrow,
…just maybe.

Maybe I was blind, or
Saw through a glass window
To soon. Empathy has repugnantly
Decayed. More and more
…like a wound?

All I have asked,
…was shoved back.
All I ever wanted,
…was laughed at.
All the appeals and dreams,
…lost,
just,
