Swollen Empire: (U.S.A) Poem by DM W

Swollen Empire: (U.S.A)

Nothing is private.
Everything is for sale.
Creative flowers
Are now constantly crushed by
Systems of despair.
These prescribed routines
Will crucify us.
In fast food cultures, even
Love will eat itself.
It's time to strike up the band.
Cheerleaders ready
For every occasion.
Elaborate lies
Are accepted as plain facts.
Silicon Valley's
Algorithms are biased.
I see mushroom clouds
On these event horizons.
Nothing is certain.
Democracy is defunct.
Mickey Mouse is king.
Red, white and blue corruption
Permeates all things.
The phallic rockets
Penetrate these virgin skies.
Diseased communication:
This military
Industrial complex can't
Distinguish between
Spurious wants and real needs.
Too much confusion:
Broncos are bucking backwards
This swollen empire
Will ultimately fall.

Swollen Empire: (U.S.A)
