With the peak of spring in the month of May,
In the early hours of a pleasantly sunlit day,
Two kids sat cuddled on a swing,
Feeling as though they were taking on wing.

It's always wonderful to write a poem on kids, and if a poetess like Valsa writes it, not only Valsa all the readers go back in their care free childhood............10

What a lovely remembrance of childhood days. We cannot relive our past though Diane Hine seems to be somewhat lucky.

The delightful and pure innocence of children at play in their imaginary world without a care in the world. We the onlookers wish we could go back to those carefree days! Superb write!

This poem is so beautifully described, and brought back the moments of many years ago, feeling that air brush at my face, remembering times of a happier place, when life was so much easier then. Thank you for such a momentary feeling enjoyed with a smile! This is an amazing write of pure delight!

amazing poem, liked a lot! and so true...........the children on the swing are free from the worldly worries and tensions, they enjoy their life til they attain the stage of adulthood........Childhood is indeed a blessing and we long to go back to those days.........but unfortunately as a child one doesnt realize and always has a desire to grow up soon!

Well I had a horrible experience, while playing on swing..Some one pushed me to a good height that I jumped all the way down the swing and had a great fall.. Nice to sit but never allow anyone to push.Still I enjoy a ride in swing. Beautiful poem reminds of childhood days. Good to relish those moments now, especially now the seasons of swings is on.....Loved it.

The poem clearly reflects the poet's experience on the swing in childhood days by observing children swinging. We all miss the innocent fun of the childhood days as we grow older. We should still be able to swing in our thoughts. Thank you for a beautiful poem.

with this realization that childhood can be reflected upon, but can never be back, i get nostalgic...you write pure poetry.. observation, imagination, experiences...all play their games together... loved this poem... Going up and coming down on the swing was fun. They closed the eyes on being face to face with the sun. They felt the swish and sway of the buoyant air, And knew the light tug of breeze on their hair.
