Swine Swears For The Pigs' Pride. Comments

In a distant land: blessed with bounteous beauties of nature
but where gloomy wind blow and EVILS outgrow.
I saw the throwing stones, bruised the silky skins of VIRGINS veiled
and her blood spilt through her ruptured skin,

Member: Saadat Tahir..... Comment: A sad and pitiable saga...that unfolds allover Pakistan (since I am talking to a Pakistani) ...otherwise where else does it not happen this way or that way.. The touched topic is so reminiscent of the various witch hunts and inquisitions littering the pages of history. This continued iniquitous treatment and gender subjugation is as far from Islam as NY is from Maldives. Sometimes it is depressing and cause for desperation, there seems to be no end in sight. You have done well to focus on an issue in that direction. The poetry apart, which is very nice, the message transcends the limit of these few words. Unless there is absolute justice and education...there will be no end… no emancipation… thanx liked P.S This poem....GJ! ... :) stay blessed..

Women too commit evil acts against both men and their sisters. I guess there is a sense in which all is vanity. Humans seem to have a penchant for needing to elevate themselves above others, perhaps because they themselves always feel unworthy. Your poem reminds me of the Biblical story of the woman brought before Jesus who had been caught in an act of adultery, her captors insisting that she be stoned to death in an attempt to discredit Jesus. (A two for one!) I always wondered where the man was who was the witness against her but in fact was as guilty as she. It is another case perhaps of 'but the woman gave me the apple.' Of course not all women meet this fate, but all men and women are in fact bullied by weaklings trying to build themselves up at other's expense. Sometimes the victims's cries are heard, and the bullies themselves get their due, but certainly not often enough. My prayer is not that God will save me from my vanity (though vanity too is vile) , but that He will save me from my feelings of inadequacy. Perhaps though they are both just two sides of the same coin. Yours is a powerful but disquieting poem Gulsher full of dark imagery that I don't always understand as in 'stepped out of iron walls.' A bit too judgmental for my personal taste (though it is just one poem) but then I am always wondering how it is even possible that God can love us (knowing our hearts) as He does. I just thank God that it is not my job to either judge myself or others, and that in faith, I truly believe that we can all count on God's justice to be JUST!
