Swift Kick And A Pinch Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Swift Kick And A Pinch

The effectiveness of this,
Is quick and stuns.
Yet...
Accepted ignorance,
Allowed to birth stupidity...
In minds overcomed,
Welcoming it done in their lives.
Permitting a diet thriving on delusion.
Takes a swift kick and a pinch,
Overdue to be done.
With an awakening,
Of a dormented a reality...
Needing to wake up,
From where it has been...
For decades stuck.
To loosen its confinement.
By those who have had enough.
And knowing the urgency for this action,
Is an emergency requiring...
A giving of immediate attention.
To bring minds constipated,
With self importance and impressions made.
To distances where their kept pretensions,
Has begun to await a promising devastation...
Gone unnoticed or ignored.
Done to believe,
The seriousness of it...
Somehow leaves them immuned!

And...
These are the folks,
Addicted and drugged on fantasies...
In need of a swift kick and a pinch.
Where it hurts the most.
Without apologies to offer.
That brings them down to Earth.
To realize an ignorance they birthed,
Has been identified...
Belonging to them.
And the time has come for it to end!

"WHAT THE...
DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID?
I FELT THAT.
AND IT HURTS! "

-God is good.
I was hoping my doing it,
Would do the trick!
Stay where you are.
I will be right back.
I have to go to tell the others,
It is the right foot...
And not the left,
That is more effective.
And all this time,
We getting nowhere...
Staying with the 'left'.-

"WHAT! ? "

-Just stay where you are.
I want to prove to the others...
It is the right foot used,
That connects to the awakening.-

"BUT...
YOU PINCHED ME TOO! "

-Thank you.
I had forgotten all about that!
That must have been a natural reaction,
From my disbelief...
You actually felt 'something'.
Welcome home.
I'll be right back don't go anywhere.
God?
I heard about You working in mysterious ways.
But this?
Has got to be witnessed.-

"What kind of human being are you? "

-I'll be right back.
Don't go anywhere.
There is so much for all of us to learn.-
