So many years ago I had such love
For Planet Earth, my one and only home;
And now my memories do ever roam
As though it were a dream from on above.
The sweet sweet smell after a summer rain
Even to this day is such a rich dessert;
And though my worries make me more alert,
I cannot help but want it yet again.
Yes, worry I, about this poor world's future,
What are we leaving to new generations?
What will the people of the many nations
Ask why we failed to give it lasting nurture.
My years are counted in the stars, I guess:
But love I Earth even to this day no less.

I would like to translate this poem
Evocative poem shedding light on how natural relationships with this planet earth- the rain, sweet smells: a sense of cosmic dedication, but how this has been overrun by an acute reality, perhaps the only benefit of being more alert by that. Many shades of complexity in this poem…..heartfelt.
