sylva, since you commented on my poem yesterday and i hadn't read anything of yours, i decided to start just now, and this was the first poem i read. i was drawn to it instantly because i live in a high-desert climate where the average rainfall is nine inches a year but which we haven't reached for a decade. i'm a fan of brevity, so i like this about your poem. though short it's packed with vivid images- ears of earth, sweet apple, melodic drum beats... and i like how you shaped the poem- it gives it visual appeal. i look forward to reading more of your work. on the subject of rain, you might like these poems of mine- refresh, o God; rain prayer; and fat clouds. the water of life, literal and figurative, be yours always. glen kappy

'The gentle breeze blew And whispered To the ears of the earth' and blew over the skin of the ground I have always loved the whisper of the wind before it rains, let the sweet rain fall :)
