Love the title 'Spitting Seeds Chronicles.' Such beautiful imagery that brings back cherished childhood memories using all of the senses. Your writing is musical and crafted like an artist.

Thanks Jette. Spitting Seeds Chronicles are a group of childhood memories waiting to be written, of which this is #1. Energy and ambition necessary, and comments like yours which, of course, becomes the incentive! Thanks so much....

I love this poem and writing in the vernacular of children is perfect. I just read a poem about cherries by Merwin and loved that one too. There's nothing I don't like about cherries. Your poem is wonderful and its well written.. Thanks for sharing. What is 'spitting seeds chronicles? ' That's a great title.

Ah yes! Whimsical and with that innocence that rings true and not fabricated. The folks from Frosni's anthology sure have a keen eye for good poetry.
