The imagery in this poem places me right there with the ghosts the humans the forest. I think this is how we live forever, in the spirits and the memories and the fire. I found this poem comforting.

You did not miss anything because the poem is meant to be joyful. We all have our stories, don't we? Such is the human condition. We celebrate for those that can not. We honor them by being happy. I have no doubt that Haidee Majola has a story as well. As we rise each day we look about defiant and despite crushing hardships we do so again and again, An exclamation of endurance.
