Survival Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Survival

O’ my sister!
Lone guardian
Tell me,
Why am I
Clinging-
Loving
And hugging
You so deep
Where’re gone
My beloved
Mom and Dad
The large family
Of members nine
Grand-Pa
And grand-Mom
Are nowhere
Spotted?

Is it true?
Survived none
Except you
Now-
Whom to meet
And believe
To listen
Humming
And speak
And trust you
As my Mom
You’d tell
All about them?

Tell me all?
Before, I lose
All hopes
And survival
Without them
Being only
Two months old
And two years
Younger than you
Since long
Entrapped into
That awful
Earth-quake.

Do you know?
Rescue teams
Ending and
Binding up
Their task
Wait sister, wait!
Wait a while!
Don’t make haste!
Until, I
Breathe my last!
