I was in hospital watching
As the good doctors were saving
Jumping and shouting: that's my bone marrow
So I could see my brothers tomorrow
I saved baby Gio
Because I love him so
And I saved baby Santino
Because I'm a superhero
I saved you guys so you could be
With mommy daddy hero me
No big deal 'cause I'm a superhero
And we didn't want to be in such sorrow
Giggle juice put me in deep sleep
And nurse said so I wouldn't weep
I saw Batman and Spiderman
Superman turned me into man
I was flying so very high
With Captain America in sky
I wore Batman's mask and cape
To fight bad guys in good shape
Mommy now ties balloon to me
So I could fly and feel free
I like to be free like good guys
Not go to jail like bad guy
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A 4 years old Philadelphia boy is indeed a SUPERHERO. He saved the lives of his 7 months old twin brothers by giving them his bone marrow. I was so deeply moved by this story that I wrote this poem. Additionally, I will have a friend draw his superheroes and frame them with this poem. I shall send it as a gift to him which will serve as a reminder to him of his love and courage.
It was such a great pleasure to write this poem from my heart because the child had inspired mine inner child.
Rose Marie, when I read this poem in public, I pretend to be that child. And immerse myself in my inner child. Great responses. Thx so much!
A wonderful and one of a kind story of kindness by a boy of such tender age woven and crafted in a fascinating poem.
Such maturity and love at such a young age is the upbringing of good moral parents. I was very deeply moved by this child's totally loving motives.
It restores one's faith in humanity and in God. Rose Marie, thank you for believing it to be a fascinating poem.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.

this iswhy I believe in a higher power in children Bravo!
Most definitely, LeeAnn! Gerard Kerouac was perhaps the best example of that in this century. And look at the influence that he had on Jack!
