Sunshine And Music...A Found Poem Poem by Shaun Cronick

Sunshine And Music...A Found Poem

Rating: 5.0

A laugh is just like sunshine,
It freshens all the day.
It tips the peak of life with light,
And drives the clouds away.

The soul grows glad that hears it,
And feels it's courage strong.
A laugh is just like sunshine,
For cheering folks along.

A laugh is just like music,
It lingers in the heart.
And when it's melody is heard,
The ills of life depart.

And happy thoughts come crowding,
It's joyful notes to greet.
A laugh is just like music,
For making living sweet.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Recently bought a First Edition book by my favourite poet Ella Wheeler Wilcox called Poems of Pleasure published by W.B.Conkley, Chicago in 1897. Inside was this folded, hand written poem by what appears to be Ella's own hand. I have her autograph and a few other items written by her. Her hand writing is very untidy, almost undecipherable and matches this poem's writing, which sadly is unsigned. So I'm very fortunate and will never sell it. A lost poem now found. A lost poem now for everyone to enjoy. So please don't thank me for writing it. Thank Ella Wheeler Wilcox.
