Sunset Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

Sunset

The sun has already set in the opposite bank of the river,
Dark evening is about to cast its spell everywhere,
The king and his soldiers are lying dead in the big palace,
The powerful forces have overpowered them and killed them relentlessly,
They are celebrating their victory noisily and wildly.
But the subjects of the country remain indifferent,
As they know their tragic fate will never change,
The ruler changes with the time and the history is rewritten,
But the sufferings and miseries of the common humanity never end,
It just continues;
Though the new regime begins with a bright day,
The sun never shines for the dreary subjects.
